Weekly Monitoring

Import dated workbook observations, review changes, and explore each weir’s annual water-level history.

Your supplied history is included below. New imports save in this browser only. Cross-device storage and live telemetry are not connected. Reported riser / bladder Y/N fields never become confirmed operating status.

Understand inches, gallons and rainy-season headroom

Weekly “Total Inches Available”: each listed weir contributes (gauge elevation − workbook shutoff) × 12. Adding those values makes an unweighted depth index. It does not measure rainfall, gallons, or empty storm capacity. W16 and W17 both contribute even though they serve Basin 4.

Volume workbook: uses basin canal surface area × depth above its reference × 7.48 gallons per cubic foot, then sums basin estimates. Its arithmetic is not capped at the green line, so higher gauge stages can produce estimates above it.

Source limitations: Basin Data 26 contains broken references in other calculation blocks. The plotted volume total instead uses rows 98–115; basins 17 and 18 are hardcoded to zero there, and some basin areas are blank. Confirm area, gauge mapping, elevation references and current geometry before using it as an operating model.

Seasonal operating target: stored water supports supply; empty space above the current water surface provides storm headroom. Neither historical line establishes how much should be retained before rainy season. That target needs basin-specific operating elevations and storage relationships.

Sources: Canal Volume Trends Current.xlsx · active Canal Vol (2026) chart; Basin Data 26, BV119; Basin Data 16, row 122; Basin Data 11, row 123. Depth-index comparison: 9-September.xlsx, Reading 3, row 22. Updated volume workbooks refresh this comparison after review; depth-only imports do not recalculate gallons.

Annual Water Levels · By Weir

One chart per structure, in numeric order. Hover a reading point for its date, elevation and source.
Levels use the workbook’s NGVD label; gauge location and datum details need confirmation. Chart scales adapt to each weir, so compare the labeled elevations rather than line height across cards. Storage volume and confirmed gate positions remain separate.
Basin volume & live telemetry · next connections

These workbooks provide depth above a shutoff reference. Their summed inches are not gallons. Basin storage requires a validated stage–volume relationship and must not be counted once for each outlet. A future telemetry connection will provide timestamped upstream/downstream observations and confirmed control positions without replacing newer data with older weekly readings.

Weekly Field Reading EntryRecords a dated field round: stage, reported state, workbook shutoff and notes. Δ Prior compares with an earlier reading; inches = (stage − shutoff) × 12.Confirm datum and the workbook’s Y/N state definitions. Workbook shutoff is not a gate setting. Save local draft stores only in this browser.
Workspace DataShows where drafts are saved. This version uses copied reference readings and local browser drafts. No automatic sync with Brad’s workbook or cross-device database is connected.
Basin 4 FocusLatest loaded readings for W16, W17, W58 and W21.These are dated observations, not live gauges. Gate positions, rainfall and upstream/downstream readings would complete the picture.
Annual graph and controlsEach color is one year; dots are recorded levels aligned by month/day. Loaded data window avoids empty months. Hover or click a dot for its date and source.Supplied workbook history spans multiple years; date conflicts are withheld. Lines link readings up to 21 days apart; they do not measure what happened between rounds.
Latest 2026 / 2025 near same dateShows the latest loaded 2026 reading and one 2025 reading within 14 calendar days of the same seasonal date. The dates can differ. A year with no reading in that window has no comparison.
2022–2025 same-period averageAverages one nearest reading from each available prior year within 14 calendar days, not all readings in that month. This is a small historical reference, not a seasonal operating target. Configuration and rainfall may differ between years.
Change since prior 2026 reading / comparison signalsDifferences in feet or inches: latest versus previous 2026, versus 2025, and versus the historical reference.Higher or lower is a direction, not a good/bad rating. The previous reading may be more than a week earlier.
Year comparison chart / Executive interpretationDisplays the same near-date observations by year and summarizes the differences in plain language. It cannot attribute a change to a gate action or rainfall, or tell you which gate setting to use.
Chronological readings / System snapshotLists source dates and values for the selected weir, then compares all listed weirs with their own latest dated readings.Different weirs may have different latest dates. Source rows are reference copies, not a direct workbook connection.
Operations IntelligenceLists documented control changes. Optional dashed markers show actions only within that year’s loaded level coverage.Dates alone do not prove cause and effect. Need action time, gate/riser settings, rainfall and upstream/downstream stages.
Hydraulic contextLegacy model comparison of existing versus proposed flow at a fixed 7.3-foot upstream stage and varying downstream stage. Not measured discharge and not a validated rating curve for the as-built gates. Need model/source review and current calibration.
Estimated basin storageReserves a place to translate water level into basin storage. Not calibrated: need a validated stage–volume relationship for the relevant basin and current canal geometry.
Rainfall & Telemetry Sources / Rainfall ObservationLists candidate/reference services and provides a rainfall entry form.Ready means a potential source, not an active feed. Rainfall saving is disabled without an independent backend; SCADA access remains needed.
Trend Analysis / Reading HistoryShows loaded weekly/local observations on a real date axis and groups those observations into dated rounds. This is a separate, smaller current-round dataset from the multi-year workbook comparison above. Missing weeks stay missing.

Annual Water-Level Trend

All dated weekly readings are combined into one calendar timeline and overlaid against prior years.
2022–2026
What the chart means
Each dot is one actual dated field reading. The Hub no longer compares “Reading 1 vs Reading 1.” Instead, it combines every reading chronologically so you can see how each weir behaves through the year and compare the shape of 2026 with 2025, 2024, 2023, and 2022.
Going forward: every weekly round saved in WB Hub automatically extends the 2026 line. Additional historical monthly workbooks can be added to fill Jan–Aug and Nov–Dec.

“Inches above shutoff” remains the workbook-derived measure (NGVD stage − shutoff elevation) × 12. It is not volumetric storage or gate opening/headroom. W16/W17 workbook shutoff values have not been replaced with gate operating limits. Higher/lower colors indicate direction only; they do not automatically mean good/bad operational conditions.

Rainfall Observation

MANUAL READY
Rainfall saving requires an independent backend, which is not connected yet. The listed telemetry sources are references; automatic ingestion is not enabled.

Reading History

The original workbook remains a source record. WB Hub stores each reading as a time-stamped operational observation so it can be compared with structure actions and events later.
